Aircraft Collections
The Royal Air Force Museum London houses one of the largest aviation
collections in the United Kingdom. Over 90 historic aircraft covering
the whole span of the first 100 years of aviation development.
Milestones of Flight Collection
The Milestones of Flight exhibition covers the great
achievements in the first 100 years of powered flight, and in particular
the major contribution made by the Royal Air Force.
Part of the original Grahame-White Aircraft Factory,
sited on the old Hendon Aerodrome, has been moved to the Museum site
and completely restored. The Museum has created a time warp back to
the early days of aviation, by featuring many of its oldest aircraft.
This Collection is housed in an original pair of First
World War hangars, providing the perfect setting for many unique aircraft
that trace the history of aviation and the Royal Air Force.
Bomber Hall Collection
The Bomber Hall Collection contains breathtaking
bomber aircraft ranging from early World War One aircraft such as
the BE2b, through the Halifax and Lancaster of the Second World War,
to the mighty Vulcan from the nuclear era of the Cold
War.
The Battle of Britain Collection, is dedicated to the
historical realities of the 1940's when the Royal Air Force stood
alone against the might of Germany.
