Aeronauts Interactive has over 40 'hands on' experiments that help our visitors learn how an aeroplane flies.
These experiments cover different aspects of the Science National Curriculum
A self guided visit to Aeronauts is included for all pre booked school groups. Children must be accompanied by an adult
Learn how an aeroplane moves through the air.
Just ask one of the 'pathfinders', who are on hand to help with everything from technical explanations to demonstrations.

Come and enjoy our extensive and exciting interactive area - Aeronauts. This is the hands-on part of the Museum designed for children from 10 years to 100! Children and adults will learn much about how aircraft fly and a range of associated aviation topics. Attempt to drop a package from a large transport plane onto a small patch of ground; experience the weight-shift method of controlling a hang-glider; discover some secrets of helicopter flight and test your aptitude to be a top fighter pilot.
Over 40 specially commissioned interactive units explore how the properties of air, forces, light, electricity, materials and the human brain relate to flight. With real and simulated cockpits to sit in; a six-metre section of a Dakota aircraft and the chance to push, blow, test, feel, pull, judge, plug, watch, balance, try out and get involved, the Aeronauts Interactive centre is a place to both learn and have fun.
When you visit RAF Museum London, Discover how aircraft weighing hundreds of tonnes manage to take off and stay airborne…in Aeronauts Interactive Centre.
