The Royal Air Force Museum's London site at Hendon is vast and it is really impossible to see everything in just one visit. Here are some suggestions about what you could fit into a short and a longer visit:

Battle of Britain Hall

Battle of Britain Hall

Hosts the exhibition depicting the story of the worlds first decisive air battle. Our Finest Hour is the stunning audiovisual presentation of the Battle and is shown every hour on the hour. (Open 12pm - 6pm daily)

Displays the Museum's oldest aircraft. (Open 10am - 12pm daily)

From time to time, we may have to close areas of the Museum to the public and it is not always possible to give advance notification. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Allocated parking is available on site and is free of charge for visitors.

Enjoy a quick snack or a full meal at one of the Museum eateries. Sit amongst the helicopters with a snack from the Wessex Café or a hot meal in our licensed restaurant, Wings.

There is an indoor picnic area at the entrance to the Aeronauts Interactive Centre in the Historic Hangars. The outdoor picnic area is on the grassed area adjacent to the Battle of Britain Hall.

We provide excellent facilities for disabled visitors and have wide aisles to accommodate wheel-chairs. Staff members are happy to assist visitors to access all areas of the Museum.

Aeronauts Interactive Centre is a hands on flight science centre with 50 purpose built exhibits to help you discover how aircraft fly.
