The British Aircraft Corporation (BAC) 1-11 airliner prototype (G-ASHG) makes its first flight.

The Hawker Siddeley 748MF military transport aircraft (G-ARRV) makes its first flight and is renamed 'Andover' in Royal Air Force service.
